Capucine Lageat et Antoine Perroteau sont allés documenter trois habitats participatifs du Maine-et-Loire pour répondre à la commande photographique Mécène & Loire 2020 ayant pour thème “écologie et urbanisme”. Ces habitats partagés réunissent des familles qui ont souhaité réaliser ensemble leurs logements et leurs espaces partagés. Elles se sont engagées dans un processus collectif de co-construction, à la suite duquel les relations de voisinage s’en trouvent renforcées. Ces modes d’habitats développent des organisations urbanistiques horizontales qui ambitionnent de résoudre une partie des problèmes sociaux et écologiques engendrés par des planifications habituellement très verticales.

Partant avec l’idée d’interroger visuellement la limite de l’intime et du commun au sein de ces constructions citoyennes, les photographes ont posé leur regard sur ces espaces de partage. Ces différentes expériences de l’habiter façonnent des identités collectives à même de déployer de nouveaux imaginaires urbains. Construites au fil des rencontres avec les habitants, les photographies tentent d’illustrer l’organisation collective de chaque espace et de se plonger dans l’univers du groupe. La série comprend des polyptyques réalisés directement sur la pellicule photographique. À la fois contraignant et ludique, cet exercice permet aux artistes de regarder différemment les espaces qu’ils photographient pour composer des formes d’images-multiples, traduisant une vision humaine dynamique.

Capucine Lageat and Antoine Perroteau went to document three cohousing communities in Maine-et-Loire to respond to the Mécène & Loire 2020 photographic grant on the theme of “ecology and urban planning”. These shared homes bring together families who wanted to build their homes and shared spaces together. They have embarked on a collective process of co-construction, as a result of which neighborly relations are strengthened. These modes of habitat develop horizontal town planning organizations which aim to solve some of the social and ecological problems generated by usually very vertical planning.

Starting with the idea of visually questioning the limits of the intimate and the common space within these civic constructions, the photographers set their gaze on these sites for sharing. These different experiences of inhabiting shape collective identities capable of deploying new urban imaginaries. Constructed through encounters with residents, the photographs attempt to illustrate the collective organization of each space and to immerse themselves in the group's universe. The series includes polyptychs made directly on photographic film. Both binding and playful, this exercise allows the artists to look differently at the spaces they photograph to compose multiple-image forms, translating a dynamic human vision.
