Following a disused railway line that crosses the Loire via a metal bridge, we immersed ourselves in the territory known as the "Centre of France." Here, demographic decline seems to have set in with the closure of certain industrial activities, leading to the discontinuation of line 689,000 several decades ago. The houses appear outdated, waiting. This decline has likely contributed to preserving the vast forests that make up the region. Yet, the omnipresent nature is not entirely reassuring. On the banks of the Loire, we catch sight of two large white plumes rising from the chimneys of a nuclear power plant.
